When Magda was very little we started reading a book by Jez Alborough simply called HUG.
It follows a little monkey named Bobo who is separated from his mama and is looking for her hug. After seeing all of his other animal friends hugging their mothers, he finally finds his mama and all of the animals start chanting, "hug, hug, hug...".
There are very few words besides "hug" in this book, but depending on how you read it it can be very dramatic and it quickly became one of our favorites.
Our big board book didn't last very long and last Christmas she was given a new, smaller version. I picked one of our favorite scenes out of the old copy and framed it for her room.
Often it's the first thing she comments on when she wakes up in the morning.
She thinks it's fun to pretend to be "Bobo" and act the story out.
Of course at the end she gets a big hug.

Finally our "Bobo"'s hair is long enough for some pigtails. With Maren we called them "Dragontails" and now, these shorter, knobbier tails have been dubbed by their wearer to be "Bobotails".

I hadn't realized you were back to blogging! Amy can really inspire, huh? My goal is to turn this into a book, just hasn't happened yet! Good luck on the photo board- post pics if you get it done.
