Spring Break 2009 included a trip to Hildebrand Farms Dairy near Junction City. Dallas works with one of the owners and Maren was curious about what goes on at a dairy...so we packed up and hit the road...
The best part was, of course, the calves...
so friendly...
and Maren loved their rough tongues...I think she would have taken one home for a pet!
Despite the pictures, we did actually see adult cows and had a behind the scenes tour of the milking and bottling facilities. Yes, there were some tears when we had to leave without milking a cow, but that farm fresh chocolate milk in the glass bottle was a yummy take home treat!
